Service Description

The Fall Semester includes 14 weeks of classes, on Sundays, from 09/13/2026 - 12/20/2026. There will be no class on (11/29). Due to Stevens Cooperative School’s campus policy, parents may enter the building only on the first day of class. For all subsequent classes, students should be dropped off and picked up at the designated entrance. Ma Li Ping (MLP) Heritage Chinese – Kindergarten This class is designed for heritage learners in kindergarten and uses the Ma Li Ping (马立平) preschool curriculum, which introduces Chinese characters through engaging rhymes and songs. Developed with the “Listen-Read-Play” method, the curriculum helps young children naturally recognize and remember characters in a fun and interactive way. Over the course of the school year, students typically learn to recognize 200–300 characters, depending on individual progress. Through repeated listening and reading of rhymes, character flashcards, audio support, and light take-home practice, children build a strong foundation in character recognition and develop an overall visual sense of Chinese character structure. This early exposure prepares students well for formal reading and writing instruction in Grade 1 and beyond, while nurturing their interest and confidence in learning Chinese. The price includes the Ma Li Ping heritage Chinese textbook set, which will be distributed during the first class.
