MLP Chinese 1st Grade

Service Description

The Fall Semester includes 14 weeks of classes, on Sundays, from 09/13/2026 - 12/20/2026. There will be no class on (11/29). Due to Stevens Cooperative School’s campus policy, parents may enter the building only on the first day of class. For all subsequent classes, students should be dropped off and picked up at the designated entrance. This class is designed for heritage learners who speak Mandarin at home and are ready to begin reading and writing. Using the Ma Li Ping (MLP) heritage Chinese curriculum, students focus on character recognition, reading comprehension, and oral expression. Writing is introduced gradually, with an emphasis on stroke order and character structure. Through engaging stories, repetition, and cultural content, students build a solid foundation in literacy—aiming to master 1,500 common characters by 4th grade. No Pinyin is used, helping students focus on character-based learning. The price includes the Ma Li Ping heritage Chinese textbook set, which will be distributed during the first class.
