Join us for the 2026 American Math Competition 8 (AMC 8), a national middle school math competition designed to inspire problem-solving, logical reasoning, and a love for mathematics! After registering here, you will receive an email from tutor@tongyantang.org with the official MAA enrollment link and detailed student registration instructions. 📅 Test Date: Sunday, January 25, 2026 ⏰ Test Time: 10:30–11:10 AM Students must arrive before 10:15 AM to be admitted. 📍 Test Location: TongYan Chinese School Address: 150 Warren St, Jersey City, NJ 07302 Entrance Instructions: Please use the Waterfront Montessori School Upper School entrance at the corner of Dudley St & Warren St. After entering, press the button on the left wall labeled Waterfront Montessori to unlock the second door, then take the elevator to the 2nd floor. ✅ Eligibility Students must be in Grade 8 or below and under 15.5 years old on the day of the competition. 🧠 About the AMC 8 The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute national math competition focused on middle-school mathematics, including: Counting & probability Estimation & proportional reasoning Geometry & spatial visualization (including Pythagorean Theorem) Graphs, tables, and basic algebra concepts It is an excellent opportunity for students to challenge themselves, strengthen logical thinking, and gain experience in competitive math. 🏆 Scoring & Awards Score Range: 0–25 points No penalty for wrong or blank answers Achievement Roll: Grade 6 & below scoring 15+ Honor Roll: Top 5% nationally Distinguished Honor Roll: Top 1% nationally
